Why Yoga
What Is Pregnancy Couple Yoga?
This is the question many moms-to-be ask us – “What is prenatal yoga, and how is it different from regular yoga?”
Prenatal yoga (or pregnancy yoga) is a practice of yoga that is specifically modified and medically safe for pregnant women. Prenatal yoga provides comfort, safety and relaxation, and it can help prepare your body for childbirth.
Unlike regular yoga, prenatal yoga focuses on:
- Gentle stretches and trimester-safe poses
- Breathing (pranayama) techniques to help with labour and stress
- Pelvic floor awareness for better core strength and stability
- Relaxation, restorative work, and meditation for a calmer emotional state
- Mind–body connection to help prepare for the birth process
In simple words, prenatal yoga is a nurturing, calm, healing practice that supports your physical comfort, emotional health, and baby’s overall well-being

Best Time of Practice Pregnancy Couple Yoga
The optimal time of day for prenatal yoga depends on personal preference, energy levels, and schedule:
- Morning (after breakfast, not on an empty stomach): Energising and metabolism-boosting, and sets a positive tone for the day.
- Midday / Early Afternoon: Great if mornings are not possible or too hectic to attend in the morning—a refreshing and restorative break.
- Evening (before sunset): Perfect time to release tension and prepare for restful sleep.
Avoid practising immediately after a meal or late in the night. Listen to your body and needs. If you’re feeling fatigued or nauseous, consider a gentler session or take rest.

The 2-2-2-2 rule is a relationship-strengthening practice that helps couples stay connected, especially during busy or stressful phases like pregnancy.
It means:
Every 2 weeks: Go on a date
Every 2 months: Spend a full weekend together
Every 2 years: Take a vacation together
This rule helps maintain intimacy, emotional bonding, and relationship satisfaction, important for expecting couples.
No worries, recordings are available for the week so you can catch up at your convenience.
The 3-2-1 rule in pregnancy is commonly used for safe sleep, positioning, and comfort:
3 pillows to support the upper body and reduce heartburn
2 pillows between the knees for pelvic alignment
1 pillow behind the back to prevent rolling onto the back
This rule helps pregnant women sleep better, relieve back pain, and maintain safe side-sleeping positions during later trimesters.
